CHIEF STATIONARY ENGINEER

The Chief Stationary Engineer License is the highest level within the City of Buffalo’s Stationary Engineering Program. This advanced certification is typically pursued by fewer operators, as it represents a management-level role responsible for overseeing large facilities and supervising engineering teams across all license levels. A Chief Stationary Engineer is authorized to operate an unlimited boiler horsepower capacity and an unlimited tonnage of refrigeration within a designated plant. The course includes 80 hours of advanced instruction, building upon the 80-hour curriculum completed in the 1st Class program.
