EPA SECTION 608 CERTIFICATION
The EPA Section 608 Certification is required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for HVAC & Refrigeration Technicians to handle, maintain, or dispose of regulated refrigerants. This Certification Program ensures compliance with the Clean Air Act and provides technicians with the skills and knowledge necessary to handle refrigerants safely and legally. In addition to meeting nationally recognized standards, obtaining this certification increases employment opportunities and industry credibility.
WNYFS offers the Universal EPA Section 608 Certification Program, one of four available certification levels. This program includes 15 hours of expert-led instruction, concluding with an online licensing exam proctored by WNYFS. To earn certification, students must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher. With multiple sessions offered year-round and convenient Corporate Training options available at your facility, our program is designed to fit a wide range of schedules and training needs.
